I have almost completed my year at Teesside University. Throughout the year I have done a documentary about the sport Iaido. This was a great challenge because I had no idea what it was. I had a great team alongside me (Megan Tulip, Heather Luke & Natalie Swain) and had a good time directing the piece. After myself and Heather the editor finished editing the film we were all happy with the outcome. The tutors must have also been happy with it because we got 81%! Great work team!
I was also Director of Photography and Assistant Director for Megan Tulips' insomnia short film 'Deprivation'. This piece is now in the final stages of the edit and it is looking awesome but creepy at the same time. I used a bit of my animation background and got stop motion in it which I was happy with.
My final piece 'Butterflies' about the bond between a grandfather and granddaughter has fallen through which I am sad to say but I have another piece in pre-production. 'Mistake' is about a man who accidently kills his wife/girlfriend. The story will be told by the man who is watching the accident take place around him. It is going to be told to the audience as a poem. Hopefully these two films will get some good marks.
